We all know that there are vast potential audiences outside of our museum walls. Join the IMPs for a day of exploring how technology can help reach them. The morning session will explore distance learning—the why, the what, the how, and the "how do we pay for it?"
The afternoon will be divided into two sessions. "Using Websites as Outreach Tools" will highlight projects at the Smithsonian Institution and the Peabody Essex Museum. "Smart Phone Tours on a Budget" will explore easy and inexpensive ways to use Google Maps, Gowalla, FourSquare and other free or cheap programs and apps to reach the smart phone users in your audience, in or out of the museum.
