Cyclorama Guest Experience Ambassador, Atlanta History Center, Atlanta, GA


We are looking for a highly motivated and results oriented professional to fill the role within the organization of Cyclorama Guest Experience Ambassador.


This position requires a warm and enthusiastic demeanor with guests and co-workers, tact and diplomacy as part of a collaborative team, adaptability in a changing work environment, willingness to learn new methods of interpretation, and flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.


The Cyclorama Guest Experience Ambassador serves as an interpreter in Cyclorama exhibitions, is responsible for activities related to Admissions, and provides excellent customer service to all guests.



  • Act as an ambassador by welcoming and orienting every guest in person or by phone. Inform guests about the opportunities available at the Center and engage in conversation to determine guests’ expectations for their visit. Answer general questions about Atlanta and our museum and exhibitions.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the Cyclorama and its accompanying exhibitions. Engage guests in conversation about key themes and historical facts.
  • Learn and apply a variety of interpretive techniques such as dialogue and storytelling.
  • Participate in all training programs and other opportunities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Process admission sales for individuals, group sales, school groups, or other guests.
  • Responsible for operating timed experiences of Cyclorama including platform access and film.
  • Distribute tablet and educate guests on use of digital interactives. Be able to answer questions and troubleshoot technology.
  • Check all exhibitions daily to ensure all interactives (low-tech and high-tech) are fully functional and presentable and communicate any issues to the appropriate staff.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the admissions desk and other public areas which includes stocking brochures and contacting Housekeeping for daily cleaning needs.
  • Process daily ticketing reconciliation reports close all open transactions and ensure Galaxy Ticketing Software is in balance.
  • Responsible for cash handling.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Must wear uniform daily




Mandatory Requirements:  

  • Either currently enrolled at an accredited college or university or sufficient education to demonstrate the ability to read instructions and to perform elementary arithmetic calculations.
  • Three to five years of cashier experience or comparable experience working with the public.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience with computers and automated data entry.
  • Must be available for weekend shifts: Saturday, 10AM-5:30PM and Sunday, 11AM-5:30PM and holidays


Preferred Requirements:

  • Interest in History, Museums and Customer Service.
  • Museum or other hospitality industry-related experience.



Background Check Requirements

  • Satisfactory criminal background check required.
  • Satisfactory financial background check required.
